A few words about me

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (NYS), Nationally Certified Counselor (US), Canadian Certified Counselor
M.S. in Mental Health Counseling, B.Ed, B.A(Hons)
My life-long vocation has been assisting the growth and healing of individuals and I love my work! I began in education teaching high school and adults in North America, China and Europe, A natural extension of my education background took me to an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling and subsequent licensure in New York State. After working in an outpatient clinic for a few years, I transitioned into private practice. My training has focused on the compassionate mindful acceptance of one’s emotions in order to heal past trauma and difficult symptoms. I bring a unique integrative approach to working with you on your goals as well as your deepest desires. I continue to attend relevant workshops and trainings to assist me in bringing you the very best psychotherapy for your particular needs.
A therapeutic relationship is one in which the client and therapist together identify and work towards a treatment goal.

Reach your highest potential
Heal from past trauma
Rise to meet and overcome your fears
Understand your behavior patterns and their origins.
Sometimes these desires are much closer than you think.
THERE IS NOTHING PERMANENT EXCEPT CHANGE. -HERACLITUS
Why work with me?
I help:
- you connect honestly with your emotions
- you courageously face your fears
- understand the connections between previous experience and present day difficulties including with depression, anxiety, relationships and addictions
- accept the innermost parts of yourself in a compassionate way
- experience the richness of life, particularly more joy and love.
Why now?
Why NOT now?
I work with people who desire, contemplate or face change. In many cases, clients just want to feel better: free from worry, stress, anger and pain. I help clarify, encourage, validate and provide the emotional foundation with which to live life more fully and meet personal and professional goals. For some clients, this requires healing from trauma, grief and anger. My specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and in Feeling States for addiction treatment is particularly helpful in this work.
I can help you navigate life’s changes however they are presented to you.
